Full Moon Women's circle in Atlanta, Ga

Art Journalist Experience!

There’s something magical about gathering under the full moon, surrounded by women who are open to transformation, healing, and connection. I’ve attended many of Kris Catalyst’s events, but her Full Moon Women’s Circle in Atlanta, GA, is by far my favorite.

I remember the first time I went—I was so nervous. At that point in my life, I was stepping into a better version of myself, one that embraced growth and aligned with the life I wanted to create. I wanted to be around people who inspired that journey, and this event called my name. Of course, I answered, just like I had for other transformative events like the Global Citizen Workshop (https://kntcreation.wixsite.com/hereweare/post/figuring-it-out-my-global-citizen-experience-with-damon-dominique) and the Potluck Gathering (BAM,https://kntcreation.wixsite.com/hereweare/post/my-first-art-journalism-event-a-potluck-of-connection-creativity.

But this event? It felt different. It felt like a space I needed to step into, to decompose and align with whatever the universe wanted to show me.

My First Full Moon Women’s Circle Experience

That first full moon event hit me deep. I remember going home vibrating with energy, smiling the whole way back. I had forgotten how good it felt to be in a community that held space for you exactly as you are—while also embracing the version of you that is yet to come.

I kept coming back, again and again. Then, a pause happened. I felt called to explore other spaces, leading me to my two-week silent retreat (https://kntcreation.wixsite.com/hereweare/post/no-me-no-mind-my-10-day-vipassana). But after traveling and experiencing the full moon eclipse, I knew it was time to return to Kris’ Full Moon Circle.

Stepping into the Sacred Space

The moment you step into the portal, you’re welcomed by Kris herself—a radiant, grounding presence. Before entering the circle, you’re saged or cleansed, ensuring that all energies are cleared before stepping into the sacred space.

Everything is beautifully set up: a ceremonial table adorned with affirmation cards, incense, candles, and every precious item a spiritual girlie could dream of. The aroma of the space is intoxicating—a blend of incense smoke, warm cacao brewing in the kitchen, and the soft scent of the evening air drifting through the slightly cracked door. It feels like home.

The transition into the ceremony is gradual, something I deeply appreciate. There’s time to chat, connect with the women sharing this space, and settle into your cozy corner on the floor, where soft pillows await.

The Ritual Begins

Kris starts us off with introductions—first herself, then each of us, sharing our names and intentions for the night. This moment always melts away the nervous jitters. By the time the circle is complete, you realize that we’re all here for the same thing: sisterhood. The cracks in people’s voices, the nervous laughter—it all creates a warm, familiar energy.

Then, we dive into a guided meditation, led by Kris with her powerful sound bowls. As the vibrations settle into our bodies, we prepare our cacao, giving thanks and setting our connection with the source. Before you know it, the sun has set, and the portal has been activated—where time and the present moment don’t quite meet.

A Special Guest & A Sacred Offering

Each Full Moon Circle has a highlight, and for this gathering, it was Megan Sadd (@megansadd), the creator of The Microway Church in a Plant Age, a microdosing church. She offered us chocolate doses of shrooms, making the experience even more sacred.

From there, we dove deep into reflection with journal prompts. One that hit me the hardest:

“Who or what do you need to forgive, and what peace would that bring you?”

LIKE HELLOOOO?! That question had me stuck for a while. It wasn’t something I could just write down and move on from—it required deep evaluation.

Intuitive Movement & Affirmation Messages

After journaling, we moved into intuitive dancing, a part of the ceremony I absolutely love. Music filled the space, and we were encouraged to let our bodies flow freely, feeling into the moment. There’s something liberating about moving with no structure—just you, the music, and the energy of the room.

Then came the affirmation cards. I pulled one that asked:

“What’s one thing you want to manifest in six months?”

I sat with that for a moment. Instantly, I thought of what I’m doing now—being an art journalist. I want to step into more spaces, bring awareness to art, and remind people that there is a place for everyone in this world. Soooo, let’s see where I am in six months! (I’ll update y’all.)

Closing the Portal

As the night wound down, we shared hugs, exchanged social media handles, and took in the final moments of deep eye gazing and heart-centered reflection. Kris guided us through a closing meditation, where she asked us reflective questions in the comfort of closed eyes but an open heart—soul to soul.

And then, just like that, it was time to leave. Kris expressed her gratitude for the space, for us, and for the energy we had cultivated together. Goodbyes were spoken from the doorway we once entered, but the feeling of the night stayed deeply seated in my heart—just like the full moon that illuminated the sky above us.

Final Reflections

This event reminded me why I seek out spaces like this. To be held, to be seen, and to be a part of something greater than myself. If you ever have the chance to attend one of Kris Catalyst’s Full Moon Women’s Circles, I highly recommend it. It’s more than just a gathering—it’s a homecoming.
