Art Journalist Experience!
I realized something on this trip—specifically when I was crammed into a packed plane, a backpack to my name, and a handful of dreams waiting to take shape. I always have my biggest awakenings or life-altering moments when I’m traveling. It’s like the plane becomes my portal to another version of myself—a version waiting to greet me in a new reality I never knew existed but somehow always knew I deserved.
Funny enough, I booked this trip a few days before my two-week silent retreat (which, by the way, was a journey of its own—I'll link it here so you can read about the trip my soul took) https://kntcreation.wixsite.com/hereweare/post/no-me-no-mind-my-10-day-vipassana. I didn’t have time to create expectations, overthink, or even stress about it. I just bought a one-way ticket with no place to stay… classic Nome behavior. I love it.
By the time I got back from my retreat, I was still mentally in that Zen mode, and somehow, everything just fell into place. Got my hotel (shoutout to Dad), booked my flights (shoutout to travel points—you will be used no matter what, inside joke lol), and secured the one-way ticket method because let’s be real, it’s always cheaper than round-trip. Packed my bag, grabbed my camera, and before I knew it, I was recording my vlog in a state I’d never been to before: Austin, Texas.
I checked into my hotel—aka my new home for the next two days—rested up, and prepared for the big day ahead. And when I say “big day,” I mean main character moment. The workshop came like a dream, or honestly, like a video game, and I was the protagonist. That 10 AM - 4 PM session felt like four minutes, and I swear, I would’ve stayed forever if I could.
So… What Even Is This Course?
If you’re wondering, “Girl, what is this course??” that tells me you haven’t watched my vlog yet (I'll just drop that herefor you)https://youtu.be/qE0p_Yj-3H0. But fineee, if you’re too lazy to click, here’s a teaser because I want you to book your own spot next time.
This course was curated by my favorite YouTuber, Damon Dominique—aka the Nomadic Being himself. Damon realized that not a lot of people have real-life examples of people making a living by traveling, experiencing, and just being themselves. He also noticed that many people aren’t actually living the lives they WANT—instead, they’re stuck in the addiction of a 9-5 routine (which, no hate, works for some—but the key is making sure you actually lovewhat you do).
So he created the Global Citizen Workshop, a space for people who are ready to stop talking about their dreams and start living them. The course focuses on:
✔ Defining your career & lifestyle goals✔ Creating a realistic blueprint to achieve them✔ Breaking it down into small, achievable steps✔ Holding yourself accountable and SHOWING UP for your dreams
But listen, this wasn’t just some “take notes and go home” kind of workshop. Nah. There were over 15 slides of deep questions, real in-person discussions, and moments that forced you to face your truth.

The Biggest Takeaways
Through all the laughs, deep sighs, and “Oh crap, this is real” moments, everyone in that room realized one of three things:
They were actually on the right path and just needed confirmation.
They didn’t really care about a “career” in the traditional sense but just wanted a life that made them happy.
They needed to start making real-time for their goals instead of waiting for the perfect moment.
For me personally? I felt overwhelmed… but in the best way. Not an “oh no, I have too much to do” kind of way, but an “oh, this is ACTUALLY possible” way. By the end of the workshop, I had:
✔ Clarity on my next moves✔ A calendar filled with action steps✔ Instagrams exchanged, pictures taken, and connections built

A Huge Thank You
I just want to take a moment to thank EVERYONE who was in that room. The energy, the conversations, the shared dreams—I left feeling so inspired by each of you.
And Damon? Man. I can’t even find the words. You’re not just helping people build careers—you’re creating spaces where people can see their potential, meet their future selves, and actually take action. If it weren’t for your workshop, I wouldn’t have met the incredible people in that room. I wouldn’t have met the version of myself that was waiting for me in that space.
You’re not just taking up space—you ARE the space that allows people to take up space. And that’s powerful. You’re creating the change we all need. You’re showing people that a different kind of life is possible, that freedom is possible.
And honestly? You inspire the hell out of me.
So thank you. Thank you for being you. Thank you for drinking out of the pottery cup I made for you (lol, real ones know). Thank you for sharing your heart, your knowledge, and your presence. It’s a sight to see.
To anyone reading this—if you’ve been waiting for a sign to start figuring it out, consider this it. 🌍✨
